Party leader, President hails outstanding performance of public security force

Hanoi (VNA) – Party General Secretary and President Nguyen Phu Trong has hailed thepublic security force for its 10 outstanding achievements in 2019.

Addressing aconference on December 4 held by the standing board of the Central PublicSecurity Commission, the Party leader affirmed that thepeople’s public security force has played an extremely important role inmaintaining political security and social order and safety; and in makingtimely advice to the Party and State on essential issues and strategies.

First of all, theforce has taken initiative in monitoring, analyzing and forecasting thesituation, and timely provided strategic recommendation to the Party and Statein outlining directions and policies on politics, economy, external relationsand ensuring national interests, security and social order and safety.

Second, the forcehas ensured absolute security and safety of important targets, politicalevents, international conferences, and activities of Party, State leaders, andinternational delegations.

Third, nationalsecurity has been maintained and become more stable. The public security forcehas proactively taken measures to ensure the national security and interests,maintain political security and prevent sabotage attempts, while making adviceto the Party and State on handling disputes, protecting national territory andnational interests in the East Sea.

Fourth, the forcehas fulfilled and surpassed targets on crime prevention and combat set by theNational Assembly.

Fifth, theeffectiveness of State management in security and order has been enhanced,particularly traffic accidents and fatalities have dropped.

Sixth, thequality of professional work has been improved, contributing to the fight againstcrime.

Seventh, thecoordination between the Ministry of Public Security and other ministries,agencies, sectors, localities in protecting security and order as well as in buildingthe movement of involving all people in protecting State security has producedimportant results.

Eighth, the forcehas focused on Party building work and achieved good results.

Ninth, financial,investment and technical-logistic work has met the requirements of the force’stasks.

Tenth, theleadership and commanding work continued to be enhanced and reformed in thedirection of closely following the reality and situation at grassroots level.

The Party leaderreminded the force that 2020 will see many important political events of thecountry. The force should analysed the causes of outstanding shortcomings andlimitations in order to seek suitable solutions to those problems, thusfulfilling the targets and requirements set for the year.

He also requestedthe force’s Party Committee to continue implementing the Party CentralCommittee’s resolutions on Party building, and select capable candidates forParty committees at all levels in the force for the 2020-2025 tenure, as wellas to for the 13th Party Central Committee and the 15th National Assembly (2021-2026 tenure).

At theconference, delegates focused on assessing the security and order situationalong with the performance of the public security force in 2019. They analysedthe causes behind the shortcomings and limitations of the force during lastyear, and outlined the targets, requirements and key tasks regarding themaintenance of security and order and building of the force in 2020.

The conferencealso evaluated the outcomes of the implementation of the Politburo’s Resolution22-NQ/TW on continuing to reshuffle the apparatus of the Ministry of PublicSecurity over the past nearly two years./.
