Hanoi (VNA) – Party General Secretary and State PresidentNguyen Phu Trong and his spouse chaired an official welcome ceremony for IndianPresident Ram Nath Kovind in Hanoi on November 20.

President Ram Nath Kovind and his spouse are making a State visit to Vietnamfrom November 18 to 20 at the invitation of President Nguyen Phu Trong.

This is the first visit to Vietnam and also the first to Asia by President RamNath Kovind since he took office in July 2017.

The visit is significant in continuing the efforts to cement and develop thegrowing comprehensive strategic partnership between Vietnam and India.

Earlier, Indian President Ram Nath Kovind, his spouse and entourage paidtribute to late President Ho Chi Minh at his mausoleum, and laid a wreath atthe Memorials to martyrs.-VNA
