Party chief attends inauguration of Vietnam Culture Centre in France

The new headquarters of the Vietnam Culture Centre in France was inaugurated in Paris on March 27 in the presence of General Secretary of the Communist Party of Vietnam (CPV) Central Committee Nguyen Phu Trong, who is on an official visit to the European country.

Paris (VNA) – The new headquarters of the Vietnam Culture Centre inFrance was inaugurated in Paris on March 27 in the presence of General Secretary ofthe Communist Party of Vietnam (CPV) Central Committee Nguyen Phu Trong, who ison an official visit to the European country.

The Party leader expressed his hope that the centre will serve as a venue forthe Vietnamese community to popularise the home country’s culture tointernational friends while helping them strengthen their solidarity.

Briefing the Vietnamese expatriates in France about the outcomes of his visitto France, Party General Secretary Trong said that it aims to enhancefriendship and bilateral cooperation and deepen the bilateral strategicpartnership between the two countries.

The Party chief also informed the Vietnamese community about the nation’sachievements in socio-economic development, which are bringing a facelift toboth urban and rural areas. He stressed that Vietnam has enjoyed robustdevelopment with extended foreign relations and the country’s position in theinternational arena has improved.

The Vietnamese People Association in France, established by President Ho ChiMinh a century ago, played a remarkable role in the past struggle for nationalliberation, he said, expressing his delight at their contributions to the hostcountry and ties between the two nations.

The Party and Government always attach much importance to overseas Vietnamese,including those in France, considering them as an inseparable part of the Vietnamesenation, said Party General Secretary Trong.

He asked the Vietnamese Embassy in France, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs andrelevant authorities to continue supporting the Vietnamese community

The Party leader also requested the embassyto well work as a bridge to accelerate the implementation of agreements reachedduring his visit, thus bringing positive changes to bilateral relations.-VNA
