OVs invest in over 3,000 businesses in HCM City

Overseas Vietnamese (OVs) have invested in more than 3,000 firms in Ho Chi Minh City with a total capital amounting to 45 trillion VND (1.91 billion USD), heard a meeting between the municipal Committee for Overseas Vietnamese and representatives of the group held in the city on September 7.

HCM City (VNA) – Overseas Vietnamese (OVs) have invested in more than 3,000 firms in HoChi Minh City with a total capitalamounting to 45 trillion VND (1.91 billion USD), heard a meeting betweenthe municipal Committee for Overseas Vietnamese and representatives of thegroup held in the city on September 7.

At the event, participating Vietnamese expatriates gotupdated on the city’s current situation and development. They were given necessary information about regulations on repatriation, Vietnamesecitizenship registration, house purchase, and goods transport, among others.

According to the municipal committee, currently, more than 2million or about 40% of the total number of overseas Vietnamese come from orhave connections with HCM City.

The city has so far attracted more than 400 overseasintellectuals to work for a long term and nearly 200 others to participate inresearch cooperation projects.

On the occasion, the committee granted certificates of merit by the municipal People’s Committee to overseas Vietnamese with outstandingcontributions to the city’s COVID-19 prevention and control./.

Running from August 4 to September 2, under the hashtag #TuHaoVietNam, the campaign invites participants in two categories: “I Love My Country” video clips and “I Love My Country” check-in photos.
