Lai Chau (VNA) –🅺 Deputy Prime Minister Vuong Dinh Hue on August 10 instructedthe Ministry of Finance to provide more than 618 tonnes of rice to the northernmountainous province of Lai Chau.

The rice,sourced from the national reserve, aims to support residents of the provincevictimised by natural disasters this year. Theprovincial People’s Committee is responsible for the prompt distribution of therice to beneficiaries in line with regulations. Sincelate June, floods triggered by heavy rains in Lai Chau have damaged manyhouses, roads, as well as rice fields and crops during the harvest season in thedistricts of Tam Duong, Sin Ho, Than Uyen, and Phong Tho, causing losses worth tensof billions dong. Organisationsand individuals across the country have offered aid to help people in Lai Chaustabilise their lives and recover production.-VNA
