Over 500 firms join 32nd Vietnam Expo in Hanoi

The 32nd Vietnam International Exhibition (Vietnam Expo) opened in Hanoi on April 5, bringing together more than 500 domestic and foreign enterprises from 16 countries and territories, with 600 booths.

Hanoi (VNA) - The 32nd VietnamInternational Exhibition (Vietnam Expo) opened in Hanoi on April 5, bringingtogether more than 500 domestic and foreign enterprises from 16 countries andterritories, with 600 booths.

The booths introduce national brands, exports,electronics, machines, and other products in the fields of digital technology,e-commerce and food industry, among others.

In his opening remarks, Deputy Minister of Industryand Trade Do Thang Hai reviewed the national economic recovery and developmentlast year, with the gross domestic product (GRP) growing 8.02% , the highestsince 2011, industrial production expanded significantly, and export-import hitting the record of 730.28billion USD.

In the first two months of this year, theexport-import was valued at nearly billion USD, the official said, adding thatalthough the figure represents a year-on-year drop, it reflects efforts byall-level agencies and the business community.

He attributed the outcomes to significant contributionsof trade promotion activities, with the rollout of incentives and solutions inorder to ensure goods circulation and boost export-import.

Since its inception in 1991, Vietnam Expo has broughtabout economic values and practical opportunities to domestic enterprises,helping them enhance export, promote the domestic market and improve theircapacity for engaging in the global value chain, while contributing to fullingthe Government’s commitment to international economic integration, Hai stressed.

Participating firms will maintaininteraction with visitors during not only the four days of the expo but alsothrough the year via a business-to-business (B2B) e-commerce platform.

Organisers said many international delegations andorganisations and foreigners from more than 60 countries and territories haveregistered to visit the event, of which the delegations from Slovakia and Chinawill hold trade exchanges with businesses.

The expo is expected to offer organisations andbusinesses opportunities to enhance the exchange of experiences, promote theirproducts, seize investment opportunities, and transfer technologies to improveefficiency in production and business.

Other seminars to boost efficiency in investment andtrade promotion in both domestic and foreign markets will also be held.

Vietnam Expo is held annual in Hanoi in April and HoChi Minh City in December./.
