Over 5 million people get COVID shots in HCM City

More than 5 million people have been vaccinated against COVID-19 in Ho Chi Minh City so far, according to the national vaccination portal.

HCMCity (VNS/VNA) – More than 5 million people have beenvaccinated against COVID-19 in Ho Chi Minh City so far, according to thenational vaccination portal.

Thatis equivalent to 71 percent of the 6.9 million people aged over 18.

Thecity’s administration said it needs another 13 million doses to ensure everyonegets two shots.

DeputyDirector of the HCM City Department of Health Nguyen Hoai Nam, said the cityplans to give the second shot to 15 percent of the eligible population bySeptember 15.

Sofar it has allotted 4.4 million doses of AstraZeneca, Vero Cell, Pfizer, andModerna vaccines.

Thecity has imported two million doses of Vero Cell in two batches. The firstbatch, imported on July 31 and approved by the ministry, is being used, and thesecond batch is being examined by the ministry./.

🔯Vietnam, France collaborate in vaccine production technology transfer

Under the agreement, VNVC and Sanofi will gradually implement technology transfers to enable domestic production of several key Sanofi vaccines that are widely used in Vietnam. In addition, Sanofi will support VNVC in training human resources and quality management in vaccine research and manufacturing.
