Over 5 million pandemic-hit workers receive support from unemployment insurance fund

Assistance from the unemployment insurance fund had been delivered to nearly 5.16 million workers affected by the COVID-19 pandemic as of October 25, the Vietnam Social Security (VSS) reported.

Hanoi (VNA) – Assistancefrom the unemployment insurancefund had been delivered to nearly 5.16 million workersaffected by the COVID-19 pandemic as of October 25, the Vietnam Social Security(VSS) reported.

Nearly 12.37 trillion VND(542.4 million USD) in cash relief has been granted to more than 4.77 millionpeople currently participating in unemployment insurance and 383,200 others whoalready stopped making contributions to the fund.

The relief provision is to implement the Government’s Resolution No. 116/NQ-CPand the Prime Minister’s Decision No. 28/QD-TTg on assistance for workers andemployers hit by the pandemic.

The VSS has also confirmed more than 1.94 million workers who will benefit fromdifferent support policies in the time ahead./.

Running from August 4 to September 2, under the hashtag #TuHaoVietNam, the campaign invites participants in two categories: “I Love My Country” video clips and “I Love My Country” check-in photos.

With a tight 13-month deadline, the move is under a strategic and urgent policy to bridge educational gaps, train the local workforce, and shore up territorial sovereignty in some of the country’s most remote areas.
