Hanoi (VNA)♍ - Choosing the meaningful occasion of Vietnamese Family Day on June 28, Singapore-based Vietnamese author Tina Yuan launched two travel books about Vietnam and Greece.
With “Nhung Dam Duong To Quoc” (The Homeland Miles) and “Duoi Troi Xanh Hy Lap” (Under the Blue Sky of Greece), Tina Yuan affirmed that Vietnam is her homeland, while the distant Mediterranean land has become her second family.
In “The Homeland Miles,” Vietnam emerges with its rustic yet profound beauty, from the gentle waterways of the countryside, the mist-covered mountain ranges, to the bustling rhythms of urban life.
It is not only a journey through geographical spaces, but also a journey back into memory: a grandfather whose deep national pride is woven into every story he tells, friends who bring her sweet and familiar experiences, a childhood filled with emotional fragments, and the simple, everyday moments of modern life.
Meanwhile, “Under the Blue Sky of Greece” opens a poetic journey where the land of ancient mythology comes to life not only through its solemn relics, the brilliant sunlight, or the iconic blue hues of the Aegean Sea, but also through the author's delicate layers of emotions and reflections.
In Greece, Tina Yuan felt that she was not merely setting foot in a foreign land, but also stepping into an entirely different world where history, art, cuisine, and people blend into a vibrant symphony. Her experiences there, from simple, flavour-rich meals, brief yet heartfelt encounters, to incomplete but sincere and profound love stories, are captured in a writing style that is deeply feminine, quiet yet evocative.

Releasing both works simultaneously is a significant challenge, but the author wishes to affirm that no matter where she is, the inspiration for writing always stems from love - love for people, for beauty, and for truth.
For her, this is also a gesture of gratitude to the homeland where she was born and to the country that taught her humility, tolerance, and the resilience to keep moving forward. These two works mark an important transformation in Tina Yuan’s writing style, from personal narratives to a broader perspective on culture, people, and the emotional connections that transcend borders.
Attending the book launch ceremony, Christos Chatzopoulos, Deputy Ambassador of Greece to Vietnam, expressed his appreciation for Tina Yuan’s work. He noted that the book beautifully highlights the charm of Greece, its land, people, and culture, through the author’s unique lens./.

Published by the Vietnam News Agency Publishing House, the photo book is considered a valuable documentary work chronicling a century of revolutionary journalism in Vietnam, serving as an important reference for both domestic and international audiences.
The book, "Nguyen Ai Quoc case in Hong Kong 1931–1933", contains valuable documents and images divided into three sections, covering the French colonial surveillance of Nguyen Ai Quoc, his arrest and legal proceedings in Hong Kong, and his ties with the Loseby lawyer family.
Hosted for the fifth time by the Vietnamese-Russian Volunteer Club under the Vietnamese Students' Association in Russia, the event aimed to celebrate the 50th anniversary of Vietnam’s Reunification Day (April 30, 1975 – 2025) and the Vietnam Book and Reading Culture Day (April 21).
With a network of 30 bureaus in countries and territories, the VNA has provided timely and objective articles on the local and regional situation, while helping international friends better understand Vietnam’s foreign policies, socio-economic strategies and achievements.
Over the past eight decades, the Vietnam News Agency has proved its irreplaceable role as both the loyal and powerful voice of the Vietnamese Party and State, and as a national media organisation with superior capabilities and innovation to meet the requirements of the digital media era, said President of the Venezuela-based Latin America multinational broadcaster teleSUR Patricia Villegas.
As a state news agency and a primary source of information for the media, the VNA has played an essential role in providing and disseminating news on the people, events, politics, economy, policies, progress, and development of Vietnam and Cambodia to domestic and international audiences.
The Vietnam News Agency (VNA) stands as Vietnam’s key media organisation, extending its influence beyond national borders to become a strategic source of accurate information about Vietnam, stated Norland Rosendo González, Director of Cuba’s National News Agency (ACN).
The Vietnam News Agency, with its network of 30 overseas bureaus located in most key regions around the world, serves as an important link connecting overseas Vietnamese with their homeland.
The latest initiatives followed this year’s National Day (September 2) celebrations, which saw nine significant projects in the city completed or inaugurated.
The Cambodian journalist said he prefers citing the VNA because of its role as Vietnam’s national news agency, entrusted for decades with delivering official information on the Vietnamese Party, State, and Government’s policies, guidelines and laws during wartime or peacetime.
The VNA provides multimedia news in many languages, and its reports on Vietnam are widely used and have certain influence in the world, according to a Chinese journalist.
The official praised the VNA’s content quality, presentation methods, as well as timely and diverse coverage, particularly major political and diplomatic events between the two countries.
Students are covered by the health insurance fund for 100% of the cost of inpatient examinations and treatment at primary health facilities nationwide.
The official likened the VNA to Vietnam’s unofficial embassy, stressing that this is very important, as in its role, the agency can deliver information from all corners, engage in exchanges, and access diverse sources of information.
Ling, who is also a former chief representative of China's Xinhua News Agency in Hanoi, affirmed that the VNA has played a vital role in guiding public opinion and significantly contributed to Vietnam’s achievements in nearly 40 years of the “Doi moi” (renewal) process.
Farmers across Quang Ninh province are stepping up efforts to protect the environment, with the chapters of the provincial Farmers' Union adopting creative and practical initiatives that have raised awareness and responsibility among members.
Sokmom Nimul, Director General of Cambodia's national news agency AKP, emphasised that the VNA has always played a significant role in Vietnam’s press system. Since its establishment on September 15, 1945, the agency has served as the official voice of the Party and State, disseminating policies, statements, decisions, and viewpoints to all sectors of Vietnamese society.
Vietnamese is also taught at prestigious schools in Laos like the Champasak-Lam Dong High School for the Gifted (Phonesavanh School) and the Champasak Ethnic Boarding School.
The partnership demonstrates the shared commitment to using technology to improve the welfare for Vietnamese children, ensuring they remain at the centre of every effort.
Emulation movements launched across the Vietnam News Agency have spread to every unit and employee, creating momentum for all to contribute to the shared mission of building the VNA as a trusted strategic information centre of the Party and State.
Delegates affirmed their commitment to upholding the ideals of President Ho Chi Minh, drawing strength from his teachings to overcome difficulties, foster unity, and mobilise resources for national development.
As VNA marks its 80th anniversary, reflecting on these streets strengthens current generations’ pride and gratitude for those who sacrificed for the agency — honoured three times as Hero of the Armed Forces and Hero of Labour in the Doi Moi era for their monumental contributions and dedication to national liberation and revolutionary journalism.
Kyodo News President Toshimitsu Sawai emphasised that the VNA’s coverage is regarded as the most authoritative source on Vietnam. He highlighted its adaptability in an evolving media landscape, especially its application of AI and other state-of-the art technologies in the editorial work.
