Brussels (VNA) – Members of the Association ofVietnamese Specialists and Scientists (AVSE Global), including many overseas Vietnameseintellectuals in France, met with Vietnamese specialists and businessmen livingin Belgium in a Brussels gathering on May 27.

The AVSE held the gathering to connect Vietnamese intellectualsin the two countries and called on Vietnamese people living in Belgium and theEurope at large to together turn their hearts to the homeland and makecontributions to the national building.

In his remarks at the meeting, AVSE President Nguyen DucKhuong said the meeting aims to provide overseas Vietnamese people andorganisations in Vietnam, Belgium, Luxembourg, France and other countries withinformation and chances to take part in seminars, projects and training programmesthe AVSE Global is carrying out.

Present at the event, Ambassador to Belgium andLuxembourg Vu Anh Quang highly valued contributions made by the Vietnamesecommunities overseas, especially intellectuals, to the national building. Heexpected the Vietnamese intellectuals and businessmen in Belgium will look intothe possibility to set up an association like AVSE in France.

During the meeting, the AVSE gave the participants anoverview of training courses, seminars, forums and projects it has beenimplementing. The participants then discussed opportunities to expand relationsbetween the AVSE and organisations and individuals in Belgium and to take partin projects and programmes in Vietnam.

Founded in 2011 in Paris, France, the AVSE bringstogether prestigious Vietnamese intellectuals, scientists and specialists whoreside both at home and overseas. The group aims to contribute to the prosperousdevelopment of the country.- VNA

“I Love My Country” media campaign launched

Running from August 4 to September 2, under the hashtag #TuHaoVietNam, the campaign invites participants in two categories: “I Love My Country” video clips and “I Love My Country” check-in photos.

With a tight 13-month deadline, the move is under a strategic and urgent policy to bridge educational gaps, train the local workforce, and shore up territorial sovereignty in some of the country’s most remote areas.
