Outgoing Belgian ambassador receives friendship insignia
The Vietnam Union of Friendship Organisation (VUFO) has presented the “For Peace and Friendship Among Nations” insignia to Belgian Ambassador to Vietnam Jehanne Roccas in recognition of her contributions to enhancing the mutual understanding, friendship and cooperation between the two countries’ people.

Hanoi (VNA) – The Vietnam Union ofFriendship Organisation (VUFO) has presented the “For Peace and FriendshipAmong Nations” insignia to Belgian Ambassador to Vietnam Jehanne Roccas inrecognition of her contributions to enhancing the mutual understanding,friendship and cooperation between the two countries’ people.
VUFO Vice President Bui Khac Son handed over theinsignia to the outgoing ambassador at a ceremony in Hanoi on August 7.
Speaking at the event, Son applauded the diplomat’s contributions toVietnam-Belgium ties, especially in politics-diplomacy, trade, economy, development,education and people-to-people exchange.
She has actively organised visits and working sessions between leaders ofministries, agencies, organisations and businesses of both countries, he said.
She has also worked to accelerate the implementation of the Belgian Government’snon-refundable aid projects in several localities in Vietnam in the fields ofState management, human resources development and climate change response, headded.
Son expressed his wish that Jehanne Roccas, in any capacity, will continuecontributing to consolidating and developing the friendship and cooperation betweenVietnam and Belgium.
For her part, the Belgian ambassador said she was honoured to receive theinsignia, the most notable reward of the VUFO.
She affirmed that her country is ready to support Vietnam in various areas,especially education, believing those who have studied in Belgium will serve asan important bridge for the two nations’ friendship and cooperation.
She promised that in any capacity, she will try her best to develop the relationshipbetween Vietnam and Belgium as well as the amity and solidarity between their people.-VNA

The country is willing to participate in collective efforts to promote cooperation and mobilise resources to advance the current priority issues of developing countries, such as trade, investment, infrastructure connectivity, making the most of scientific and technological advances for development, and people-to-people exchanges, Hang said.
During the negotiations, the US highly evaluated Vietnam’s goodwill and efforts, affirmed its appreciation for the bilateral relationship, acknowledged Vietnam’s proposals and concerns, and considered these an important basis for continuing discussions and moving towards a final agreement.
The Chairman stressed the need for stricter fiscal discipline, faster digital transformation, and more efficient management of State budget revenues and expenditures.
