“OCOP” fair to be held in Thai Nguyen

Hanoi (VNA) – A fair on “One commune one product” (OCOP) and hi-techagriculture in the northern midland and mountainous region will be held in ThaiNguyen province from August 31 to September 6.

The information was announced at a press conference jointly hosted by theMinistry of Agriculture and Rural Development (MARD) and the provincial People’sCommittee in Hanoi on July 24.

The fair will exhibit products of communes and wards as well as hi-tech farmproduce, aiming to honour Vietnam’s high-quality agro-forestry-fisheriesproducts which are well-known in the domestic and foreign markets.

Nguyen Quoc Huy, Deputy Director of the Thai Nguyen Department of Industry andTrade, cities and provinces in the region will have a chance to introduce theirpotential and strengths in agriculture and green tourism.

The fair, held annually by Thai Nguyen province since 2016, will also offer a venue for businesses, farms and processors to exchangeexperience and set up partnerships.

Also at the press conference, the People’s Committee of Binh Dinh provinceannounced that it will host a fair on agro-forestry-fisheries products of thesouth central coastal region from August 1-6.

The event is expected to increase activities to promote trade, support andboost agricultural production in a comprehensive, modern and sustainablemanner, said Dao Van Ho, Director of the Trade Promotion Centre for Agricultureunder the MARD.

Especially, advanced technologies in agricultural production, aquaculture and offshorefishing, preservation, processing and environmental treatment will be showcased,he added.-VNA
