North, central Vietnam urged to brace for Storm Tokage

Coastal provinces and cities from Quang Ninh in the north to Khanh Hoa in the central region have been told to prepare for tropical storm Tokage.

Hanoi (VNA) - Coastal provinces and cities from Quang Ninh in the northto Khanh Hoa in the central region have been told to prepare for tropical stormTokage.

Accordingto the National Centre of Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting, at 7am on November25, the eye of the typhoon was at 11.4 degrees north latitude and 123.5 degreeseast longitude, in the Philippines’ central region.

Inthe next 24 hours, the storm is forecast to move west-northwest at about 15-20kmper hour and is gaining in strength.

At7 am of November 26, its centre is forecast at 12.7 degrees north latitude and118.7 degrees east longitude, about 500km to the east-northeast of the TruongSa (Spratly) archipelago.

The steering committee for natural disasterprevention has sent a dispatch tasking relevant agencies of the vulnerablecoastal areas with updating locals on the storm movement and strictly monitoringboat activities at sea.-VNA
