Thua Thien-Hue (VNA) – North central provinces have been urged to diversify theirtourism products besides sea tourism.

Tourism productsin the north central region were the focus of a conference held by the VietnamNational Administration of Tourism (VNAT) in Thua Thien-Hue province onDecember 3.

Ha Van Sieu,Deputy Director General of the VNAT, said in addition to the long coast, northcentral provinces are also home to many cultural and historic relic sites,including nine world natural and cultural heritage items recognised by UNESCO.

Therefore, theregion should create products on ecological tourism, craft village tourism,spiritual tourism and countryside tourism.

However, Sieusaid, localities in the region need to pay attention to improving quality ofproducts and services.

He affirmed theVNAT will coordinate with localities and relevant agencies to assist withpromotion activities and attract local and international tourists.

The northcentral region comprises six provinces of Thanh Hoa, Nghe An, Ha Tinh, QuangBinh, Quang Tri and Thua Thien-Hue.
