Noi Bai airport tells airlines to reduce delays

The Noi Bai International Airport has asked all domestic airlines to improve operations so as to cut down on the increasing number of flight delays recorded recently.

Hanoi (VNA) - The Noi Bai International Airport has asked all domesticairlines to improve operations so as to cut down on the increasing number offlight delays recorded recently.

Airlines that have been asked to get their act together include nationalcarrier Vietnam Airlines, VietJet Air and Jetstar Pacific.

Figures from June 1 to 15 show that VietJet Air led the list, with 435 of itstotal 1,094 flights being delayed, or 39.8 percent.

Vietnam Airlines had 191 delayed flights of its 1,489 flights, or 12.8 percent.Its subsidiary Jetstar Pacific operated a total of 244 flights, of which 26.2percent was delayed.

The Noi Bai airport has instructed the airlines to strengthen their flightoperations control to minimise the number of delays, and to improve theexperience for passengers.-VNA
