Ninh Binh ready for opening ceremony of National Tourism Year
The northern province of Ninh Binh, host of the 2020 National Tourism Year, has been fully prepared for a grand opening of the year, slated for February 22.

Ninh Binh (VNA) – The northern province of Ninh Binh, host of the 2020 NationalTourism Year, has been fully prepared for a grand opening of the year, slatedfor February 22.
At a conferenceon January 3, it was reported that all preparations for the event has beencompleted.
The ceremony, to beheld at the Dinh Tien Hoang De Square in Ninh Binh city, will be broadcast liveon the national television channel and the provincial television channel.
Following theceremony and an art programme, a spectacular firework show will be held to entertainabout 3,500 delegates along with thousands of locals and visitors.
The openingceremony is among activities ushering in a series of events during the NationalTourism Year 2020.
Accordingto the organising board, the year will take the theme “Hoa Lu – ancient capitalof a thousand years” with 27 activities, including Bai Dinh pagoda festivalthat will open on January 30, Hoa Lu festival from April 1-3, and Trang Anfestival from April 10 to the late May 2020.
The Miss Capital ASEAN 2020 final round, the “Yellow Tam Coc - Trang An” tourismweek, an international workshop on “xam” singing, a music exchange betweenprovinces having world heritages and twinning localities at home and abroad,the second Trang An marathon tournament, and Ninh Binh trade and tourism fairare also among the planned events.
Other activities include Dau temple festival, Duc ThanhNguyen temple festival, Thai Vi temple festival, display of Ninh Binh antiques,the Hoa Lu Volleyball Cup 2020, a photo competition themed “Ninh Binh land andpeople”, an international symposium on the preservation of world cultural andnatural heritage values in combination with sustainable tourism development,among others.
﷽ The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism will alsoorganise 11 activities while 24 cities and provinces hold 79 events in responseto the year./.
The National Tourism Year 2020 will be launched in the northern province of Ninh Binh on February 20, 2020, heard a press conference in Hanoi on December 10.
The central province of Khanh Hoa greeted the 3.5 millionth foreign visitor and the 10 millionth tourist arriving in the locality at the Cam Ranh international airport in 2019 at a ceremony on December 18.
The tourism sector has set the goal of attracting 20.5 million international visitors in 2020 and serving 90 million domestic travellers, it was said at a review meeting of the Vietnam National Administration of Tourism (VNAT) in Hanoi on December 23.
The 2019 National Tourism Year themed “Colour of the Sea” has ended with flying colours, as seen in the record number of international visitors and various prizes won by the country’s tourism sector.
