Quang Ngai (VNA) – Japan’s Nikken Sekkei Company on October 13 proposed a construction planning for Ly Son island to the Quang Ngai People’s Committee.

A r epresentative of Nikken Sekkei presented the first phase of the planning on a 1:2000 scale , focusing on analysing the existing situation, establishing planning ideas and orientating space s .

The company put s forward the idea of developing the island in the way of harmonising tourism and daily activities in the island , building a sea and geological museum, promoting homestay tourism and developing environmentally-friendly transport .

It plans to s꧂et up destination management organisations (DMO) which encourages locals’ participation in tourism management and boost sustainalbe agro-fisheries development.

According to Tran Ngoc Cang, Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee , as the local economy is mainly based on agriculture and fisheries, the company should pay attention to restoring forest areas, reducing areas for growing onion and garlic, and increasing water surface areas for use.

He also asked the company to care for 💎defence - security issues,🔯 water supply and waste treatment.-VNA
