Dong Nai (VNA) – The Nhon Trach 2 thermal powerplant in the southern province of Dong Nai has generated 35 billion kWh for thenational grid over just seven years of operation, announced the PetroVietnamPower Nhon Trach 2 company on November 20.
With a designed capacity of 750 MW, the facility wasestimated at needing around eight to nine years of commercial operation toreach that level of output. However, its automatic run at 80 percent of the totalload on average has ensured the maximum mobilisation of powerproductivity.
The outstanding productivity has greatly contributed tosupplying electricity for key economic areas in the southern region, like HoChi Minh City, Dong Nai, and Ba Ria - Vung Tau.
The plant, fueled by natural gas, began commercial operationin late 2011. With three turbines, it is designed to churn out an average of4.5 billion kWh each year.
