Hanoi (VNA) –♏ The Investigation Police Agency under the Ministry of Public Security said on December 16 that it has launched criminal proceedings against Nguyen Van Dai, on the charge of conducting anti-state propaganda.
The agency also detained the 46-year-old man from the northern province of Hung Yend on the charge, pursuant to Article 88 of the Penal Code.
Dai’s home at Flat 302, Z8, Bach Khoa Collective Zone in Bach Khoa ward, Hai Ba Trung district, Hanoi was also searched the same day.
The launch of criminal proceedings, the arrest and home search were approved by the Supreme People’s Procuracy.
The case is under investigation in accordance with the law.-VNA
The Supreme People’s Court on November 2 upheld a jail term of five years and a half to Nguyen Kim Nhan on the charge of “conducting propaganda against the State of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam” pursuant to Clause 1, Article 88 of Vietnam’s Penal Code.
