Hanoi (VNA) – “Ha Noi Moi” (New Hanoi) Newspaper has launched their traditional Run for Peace, a major sportingꦍ event to celebrate the 62nd anniversary of the capital’s liberation.
More than 4,000 people, including city officials, workers, students and residents, attended the opening ceremony at the Quan Ngua Sport Palace on June 21 to kick off the 43rd event.
After the launch, a qualifying run will be organised in all 30 districts and towns of the city. The winners will compete in the final, which is scheduled for October 9 around Hoan Kiem Lake.
Athletes from other cities and provinces as well as foreigners are encouraged to participate in the annual tournament as well.-VNA
The 36 th Run for Peace, organised by the Hanoi Moi newspaper, around Hoan Kiem Lake is expected to attract the participation of nearly 1,200 athletes, including 300 foreigners.

As many as 5,400 people participated in a ceremony launching the 40 th Hanoi Moi newspaper Run for Peace at the Quan Ngua Sport Palace in the capital on June 16.
Almost 200 foreign racers from 29 Hanoi-based embassies and international organisations will participate in the Hanoi Moi (New Hanoi) newspaper’s annual run.
