Newly-established enterprises increase

Up to 25,729 enterprises were formed in the first four months of 2014 with total registered capital of 143 trillion VND, the Government news portal (VGP) reported.
Up to 25,729 enterprises were formed in the first four months of 2014with total registered capital of 143 trillion VND, the Government newsportal (VGP) reported.

The number of newly-establishedenterprises saw year-on-year increase of 8.1% while the registeredcapital surged by 16.2% against the same period last year, said VGP,citing figures released by the Business Registration Department underthe Ministry of Planning and Investment.

According to theDepartment, 21,489 enterprises were dissolved or temporarily suspendedoperation without registration in the reviewed period.

Meanwhile,5,863 enterprises resumed operation in the January-June period. Most ofthem are located in Ho Chi Minh City (2,044) and Hanoi (1,366).

Almost all sectors saw rising number of newly-formed enterprises especially in finance, banking, and insurance (up 276.4%).

However,some sectors witnessed the fall in the quantity of enterprises such asinformation and communications, job services and tourism.-VNA
