Hanoi (VNA) – The Foreign Ministry hosted a NewYear meeting with foreign embassies and foreign media agencies in Vietnam inHanoi on January 19.
Addressing the event, Deputy Foreign Minister Ha Kim Ngoclauded the role of foreign diplomats and media workers in promoting culturalexchange, mutual understanding and friendship between Vietnam and othercountries.
He praised the dedicated and professional work of foreignreporters, saying that their stories have covered Vietnam’s socio-economicdevelopment and efforts to fulfill its international commitments.
The Deputy Minister stated that the Foreign Ministry willcontinue supporting foreign media agencies’ activities in Vietnam andstrengthening cooperation for practical outcomes.
He told the meeting that in 2016, Vietnam welcomed more than30 heads of State and senior officials from other countries and successfully organisedmany important international events. Diplomatic activities have contributed tohelping the country attract 15.8 billion USD in foreign investment and 10million international visitors, up 25 percent year-on-year.-VNA
