New appointments at PetroVietnam and VNPT announced

The Prime Minister has signed a decision to remove Nguyen Quoc Khanh as chairman of the board of directors of PetroVietnam to enable his transfer to the Ministry of Industry and Trade.

Hanoi (VNA) - VietnamesePrime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc has signed a decision to remove Nguyen Quoc Khanhas chairman of the board of directors of the Vietnam Oil and Gas Group (PetroVietnam)to enable his transfer to the Ministry of Industry and Trade.

The Minister of Industry and Trade will assign specific tasks forKhanh. 

The Prime Minister also agreed to appoint Nguyen Vu Truong Son,member of the board of directors and general director of PetroVietnam, totemporarily perform the duties of chairman of the board of directors until anew appointment is announced.

Meanwhile, the Vietnam Post and Telecommunications Group (VNPT)announced its decision to appoint Huynh Quang Liem to the group’s deputygeneral director for five years beginning March 1.

At the ceremony, Deputy Minister of Information and CommunicationsPhan Tam said, with his experience and capacity, Liem would help develop VNPTin the future and realise the goal of making the company to the top of thecountry’s IT and communications market.-VNA
