Nestle Vietnam to switch to paper straws

Nestle Milo will put into use over 16 million paper straws this year, contributing to a reduction of 6.7 tonnes of plastic wastes, said head of the Nestlé Vietnam’s Dairy Business Ali Abbas.

Hanoi (VNA) –Nestle Milo will put into use over 16 million paper straws this year,contributing to a reduction of 6.7 tonnes of plastic wastes, said head of the Nestlé Vietnam’s Dairy Business Ali Abbas.

The switchto paper straws demonstrates Nestlé Milo’s commitment to supporting Vietnam inachieving its green goals for the future, including a 75 percent reduction ofplastic wastes in beaches and oceans by 2030.

It is alsoin line with Nestlé’s own global commitments to reduce its own plastic use,aiming to make 100 percent of its packaging recyclable and reusable by 2025./.

🌳 Vietnam contributes to international court's advisory opinion on climate change

As a key member of the core group of 18 countries, initiated by Vanuatu, Vietnam engaged in advocating for the UN General Assembly’s Resolution N.77/276, requesting for the ICJ’s advisory opinion. Following the resolution's adoption, Vietnam fully participated in all procedural steps for the first time, from submitting written proposals to presenting directly at the court’s hearings.

🌄 Hanoi to roll out policies supporting green transport transition

Under the plan, from 2025 to 2026, the city will complete mechanisms and policies to support businesses in switching to green vehicles, expand the electric and green-energy bus network, and build charging stations. The targeted proportion of green buses is set at 10% in 2025 and 20–23% in 2026.
