HCM City (VNA) – The ConsulateGeneral of South Africa in HCM City presented gifts and scholarships toorphans, children with disabilities and those from difficult backgrounds onJuly 13 to celebration of the Nelson Mandela International Day (July 18).

The event was held to pay tribute to thelate President of South Africa who dedicated 67 years of his life to fightingfor peace and justice around the world.

Some 50 scholarships, worth 50 million VNDin total, 200 colouring books and other gifts were given to the children fromNguyen Dinh Chieu Special School and Social Protection Centre for HandicappedChildren in the city.-VNA

“I Love My Country” media campaign launched

Running from August 4 to September 2, under the hashtag #TuHaoVietNam, the campaign invites participants in two categories: “I Love My Country” video clips and “I Love My Country” check-in photos.

With a tight 13-month deadline, the move is under a strategic and urgent policy to bridge educational gaps, train the local workforce, and shore up territorial sovereignty in some of the country’s most remote areas.
