Nearly 360 Vietnamese citizens were brought home safely on a flight arranged by Vietnamese and US agencies together with national flag carrier Vietnam Airlines on December 21-22.

Hanoi (VNA) – Nearly 360 Vietnamese citizens were brought home safely on a flightarranged by Vietnamese and US agencies together with national flag carrierVietnam Airlines on December 21-22. The passengersincluded children under 18, the elderly, the ill, students who completed theirstudies without accommodations and those in extremely difficult circumstances. Vietnameserepresentative offices in the US helped citizens in remote areas travel toairports in Washington D.C and Los Angeles, and sent staff to assist them withboarding procedures.

To ensure health forthe citizens and prevent the spread of COVID-19, strict security, safety andepidemiological measures were applied during the flight. After landing at NoiBai international airport in Hanoi, all passengers and crew members on theflights had their health checked and sent to quarantine in line withregulations. The repatriation ofVietnamese citizens in disadvantaged circumstances abroad will continue to beconducted in line with citizens’ wishes, the development of the COVID-19pandemic and quarantine capacity in the country./.

Running from August 4 to September 2, under the hashtag #TuHaoVietNam, the campaign invites participants in two categories: “I Love My Country” video clips and “I Love My Country” check-in photos.
