Hanoi (VNA) –𝔍 Close to 330Vietnamese citizens were repatriated home safe and sound from Angola on aflight of national flag carrier Vietnam Airlines on October 20.

The flight was arranged by Vietnameseauthorities, the Embassy of Vietnam in Angola, Vietnam Airlines and relevantagencies of the African country. The passengers included the ill, labourerswith expired contracts and those in extremely disadvantaged circumstances. The Vietnamese Embassy had sent staff tothe airport to assist them with boarding procedures. Strict security, safety and epidemiologicalmeasures were implemented during the flights to ensure passengers’ health and preventthe spread of diseases. After landing Van Don airport in thenortheastern province of Quang Ninh, the passengers and crew members had theirhealth checked and were sent to quarantine in line with regulations. The repatriation of Vietnamese citizens indisadvantaged circumstances abroad will continue to be conducted in line withcitizens’ wishes, the development of the COVID-19 pandemic and quarantinecapacity in the country./.
