Nearly 2,000 people join blood donation drive in Thanh Hoa
Nearly 2,000 officials, cadres, youths and public security officers joined the annual 13th Red Sunday – a voluntary blood donation drive, in the central province of Thanh Hoa on December 13.

The activity was jointly held by the National Traffic SafetyCommittee, the National Institute of Hematology and Blood Transfusion and TienPhong (Vanguard) newspaper in cities and provinces nationwide. In the near future, the provincial Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union(HCYU) will urge officials, youth union members and students to spread theeffort and play a vanguard role in blood donation movements. On the occasion, the provincial HCYU presented certificates ofmerit to nine individuals and seven collectives in honour of their contributionsto the voluntary blood donation movement./.
The voluntary blood donation campaign Red Journey 2020 will continue to be conducted in 10 more provinces and cities, aiming to achieve the target of this year which is to collect 50,000 blood units.
Thousands of volunteers, mainly youngsters and students, donated blood at the “Giot hong tri an” (Grateful Red Drops) blood donation festival in Hanoi on August 2.
Nearly 10,000 units of blood are expected to be donated through the 'Blood for Vietnamese 2020' programme, according to officials at the closing ceremony of the programme on December 3 in the northern province of Bac Ninh.
