Nearly 11.78 million pandemic-hit workers benefit from unemployment insurance

The Vietnam Social Security (VSS) has so far given over 28 trillion VND (1.23 billion USD) from the unemployment insurance fund to nearly 11.78 million COVID-19-affected workers.

Hanoi (VNA) – The Vietnam Social Security (VSS)has so far given over 28 trillion VND (1.23 billion USD) from the unemployment insurancefund to nearly 11.78 million COVID-19-affected workers.

The spending was in line with the Government’s Resolution116/NQ-CP and the Prime Minister’s Decision 28/QD-TTg on assisting employeesand employers impacted by the pandemic.

As of November 16, the agency approved applications of 805units invloving over 152,000 employees in 57 provinces and cities to betemporarily suspended from paying the pension and death gratuity fund with anamount of more than 1.065 trillion VND.

At the same time, the VSS has confirmed a list of more than2.47 million employees from 64,900 units in 63 provinces and cities to be benefitedfrom different policies for aid, training, and preferential loans./.

Running from August 4 to September 2, under the hashtag #TuHaoVietNam, the campaign invites participants in two categories: “I Love My Country” video clips and “I Love My Country” check-in photos.
