Nationwide blood donation campaign comes to Binh Dinh

More than 1,500 blood donors have taken part in a festival in Quy Nhon city, the central province of Binh Dinh as part of the Hanh Trinh Do (red journey), a nationwide annual blood donation drive.

Binh Dinh (VNA) – More than 1,500 blooddonors have taken part in a festival in Quy Nhon city, the central province ofBinh Dinh as part of the  Hanh Trinh Do (red journey),  a nationwideannual blood donation drive.

The two-day event concluded on July 16 andcollected a total of 1,244 blood units.

During the festival, the Hanh Trinh Doorganising board honoured 33 individuals and groups of donors for theiroutstanding contributions. 

Initiated by the National Institute ofHematology and Blood Transfusion in 2013, the red journey is scheduled totravel 28 provinces and cities throughout July this year. It is expected tocollect at least 45,000 blood units.

Last year, the drive toured 27 cities andprovinces nationwide to provide advice on blood donation and thalassemia – agenetic blood disease – to 500,000 local people and collected 20,790 units ofblood.

Since its inception, the campaign has gatheredmore than 150,000 units of blood. -VNA

“I Love My Country” media campaign launched

Running from August 4 to September 2, under the hashtag #TuHaoVietNam, the campaign invites participants in two categories: “I Love My Country” video clips and “I Love My Country” check-in photos.

With a tight 13-month deadline, the move is under a strategic and urgent policy to bridge educational gaps, train the local workforce, and shore up territorial sovereignty in some of the country’s most remote areas.
