The second edition of a painting contest honouring Vietnamese cultural heritage will be launched at the beginning of September.

The traditional crafts of basket weaving and brocade weaving of the S’tieng ethnic group in Binh Phuoc province have been declared National Intangible Cultural Heritages at a recent ceremony. 

The Lao Cai Provincial People’s Committee has launched a week showcasing traditional outfits worn by local ethnic groups. This is the first year the northern mountainous province has organised the event.

The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism has announced 11 new national intangible cultural heritages, all of which are in the northern mountainous provinces of Tuyen Quang, Dien Bien, Bac Kan, Cao Bang, and Yen Bai.

Mo Muong, a cultural heritage of Muong ethnic minority group in Thanh Hoa and Phu Tho provinces; Dinh Co Festival in Ba Ria-Vung Tau province; and the art of traditional weaving of the Ba Na ethnic minority in Kon Tum province are among 14 new national intangible cultural heritages recognised by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism.
