The 12th National Conference on Nuclear Science and Technology will take place in the central coastal province of Khanh Hoa from August 2-4, heard a press briefing on July 27.

Hanoi (VNA) ౠ- The 12th NationalConference on Nuclear Science and Technology will take place in the centralcoastal province of Khanh Hoa from August 2-4, heard a press briefing on July27. 

Tran Chi Thanh, Director of the Vietnam AtomicEnergy Institute (VAEI) said the event aims to promote research and applicationactivities of the atomic energy sector.
It also presents an opportunity for domestic andinternational experts to discuss and exchange the outcomes of their studies andnew applications in nuclear science and technology. The event expects to gather experts from Russia,Japan, the US, the UK, France, the Republic of Korea, Netherland, Belgium,Hungary, India, Singapore, Laos, and Cambodia, as well as specialists from theInternational Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) and the European Organisation forNuclear Research (CERN).
VAEI and IAEA will jointly host a workshop onapplication of nuclear technology in industry, agriculture and health. The biennial event helps promote Vietnam’s scientificresearch and the use of atomic energy for peaceful purposes. An exhibition featuring the studies,applications, equipment and services of nuclear technology in socio-economicdevelopment will be part of the event.-VNA

🔯 Vietnam launches six 4.0 technology training and talent networks

The networks bring together universities, research institutes and domestic and foreign businesses. Members will work closely in training, research, and technology transfer by sharing curricula, improving faculty capacity, providing access to laboratories and research facilities, and jointly implementing science and technology projects.

Vietnam is actively yet cautiously preparing for the construction of its first nuclear power plant in Ninh Thuan (now the south-central coastal province of Khanh Hoa). The resumption of the programme after years of suspension carries considerable significance for the nation’s development in a new era as it strives to gradually reduce and ultimately phase out coal-fired power to realise the Government’s commitment to Net Zero by 2050.

ꦫ PM chairs national committee's meeting on semiconductor development

Vietnam has issued many key policies to support semiconductor development, notably the Politburo’s Resolution 57 on science, technology, innovation, and digital transformation. Other initiatives include the Semiconductor Industry Development Strategy to 2030, with a vision to 2050, and the Human Resources Development Programme for the Semiconductor Industry.
