National Committee for Children established

The Prime Minister has decided to establish a National Committee for Children which will help the Government and the PM deal with child-related issues and implement children’s rights.

Hanoi (VNA) – The Prime Minister has decided toestablish a National Committee for Children which will help the Government andthe PM deal with child-related issues and implement children’s rights. 

The committee will also propose orientations andsolutions to child-related matters and promote the enforcement of the UNConvention on the Rights of the Child (UNCRC). 

At the same time, it will coordinate withagencies of the National Assembly, the Supreme People’s Court, the SupremePeople’s Procuracy, the Vietnam Fatherland Front and its member organisations,along with social and social-professional organisations to enforce children’srights and address issues relating to children. 

The committee will be assigned to instructministries, agencies and localities to report outcomes of the implementation ofchildren’s rights and relevant tasks, and the effectuation of the UNCRC to theNational Assembly. 

The Ministry of Labour, Invalids and SocialAffairs will serve as the standing office for the committee, and is responsibleto ensure the committee’s working conditions and personnel.-VNA

“I Love My Country” media campaign launched

Running from August 4 to September 2, under the hashtag #TuHaoVietNam, the campaign invites participants in two categories: “I Love My Country” video clips and “I Love My Country” check-in photos.

With a tight 13-month deadline, the move is under a strategic and urgent policy to bridge educational gaps, train the local workforce, and shore up territorial sovereignty in some of the country’s most remote areas.
