Hanoi (VNA) –
Lawmakers will vote topass the draft revised Law on National Defence and draft Law on Vietnam CoastGuard at the ongoing fifth session of the 14th National Assembly in Hanoi onJune 8 morning.

The Law on National Defence provides fornational defense policies and principles, basic defense activities, tasks andpowers of agencies and organisations, rights and obligations of citizens on nationaldefense.

Meanwhile, the Law on Vietnam Coast Guard aimsto institutionalise the Party’s policies, guidelines and regulations relatingto the Constitution 2013 on enhancing the country’s defence-security strengthand creating a legal foundation for the operation of the Vietnamese coast guardforce.

In the afternoon, legislators will cast theirvotes to approve a draft programme on law and ordinance building for 2019 andadjustments to the law and ordinance building programme for 2018.

They are set to discuss the draft Law on Cultivationwhich looks to create large-scale production with high quality, ensuresustainable development and food security, improve incomes for farmers andsupport them to adapt to climate change and integrate into internationaleconomy.-VNA
