NA Standing Committee concludes 34th session

The 34th session of the 14th National Assembly (NA) Standing Committee concluded on May 10 after three days of sitting to finalise agenda planned for the upcoming NA’s seventh plenary and discuss some other issues.

Hanoi (VNA) – The 34th session of the 14th NationalAssembly (NA) Standing Committee concluded on May 10 after three days ofsitting to finalise agenda planned for the upcoming NA’s seventh plenary anddiscuss some other issues.

Addressing the closing ceremony, NA Vice Chairwoman Tong ThiPhong asked relevant agencies to promptly finish documents for the seventhsession and deliver them to NA deputies for studying as there are only 10 days tothe event.

Earlier the same day, the NA Standing Committee discussedVietnam’s joining of the International Labour Organisation (ILO)’s Convention98, or the Right to Organise and CollectiveBargaining Convention, which was approved by the organisation onJuly 1, 1949.

As of January2019, 165 out of 187 ILO member countries joined the convention, one of theeight fundamental conventions of the ILO.

The committeealso discussed the allocation and using of reserve middle-termpublic investment for 2016-2020, as well as the addition of a new list to themiddle-term public investment for 2016-2020; while giving opinions on the useof 10 trillion VND (431.7 million USD) saved from decreases in investments forthe nation’s important projects under the legislature’s resolution.-VNA
