NA Standing Committee begins 45th session

The National Assembly Standing Committee began its 45th session in Hanoi on May 8 under the chair of NA Chairwoman Nguyen Thi Kim Ngan.

Hanoi (VNA) – The NationalAssembly Standing Committee began its 45th session in Hanoi on May 8under the chair of NA Chairwoman Nguyen Thi Kim Ngan.

The NA Chairwoman underlined that the45th session is the last one before the ninth session of the NA. Besidesissues under the committee’s authority, the committee will give opinions forthe last time on contents to be submitted to the NA at the upcoming session.  

The committee will examine the draftlaw on adjustments and supplements to a number of articles of the Law onOrganisation of the NA (the second time), three draft NA resolutions on recognisingand allowing the enforcement of decisions of arbitration agencies under theEU-Vietnam Investment Protection Agreement (EVIPA), some specific financialmechanisms and policies for Hanoi, and the pilot model of urban administrationin Da Nang.

The committee is scheduled to giveopinions on reports on supplementary assessment of the implementation ofsocio-economic development plans and State budget in 2019 and the first monthsof 2020; the 2018 State budget balance; outcomes of the supervision ofsettlement of voters’ petitions submitted to the NA’s 8th session;and a summary of voters and people’s petitions submitted to the upcoming 9th NA session.

The committee will also look into thenational target programme on socio-economic development in ethnic minority andmountainous areas in 2021-2030; the change in investment form for somecomponent projects of the eastern route of the North-South highway in2017-2020; and preparations for the 9th NA session.

The committee may also considerpersonnel issues during its 45th session, which is taking place on May 8, 15 and16./.
