NA leader pledges favourable legal environment for Swedish investors

Vietnam commits to creating a favourable legal environment for Swedish investors, including those from Stockholm, said National Assembly Chairwoman Nguyen Thi Kim Ngan.

Stockholm (VNA) –Vietnam commits to creating a favourable legal environment forSwedish investors, including those from Stockholm, said National AssemblyChairwoman Nguyen Thi Kim Ngan during a meeting with Mayor of Stockholm cityEva Louis Erlandsson on April 7 as part of her visit to Sweden.

Highlightingthat Stockholm is an economic centre of Sweden and the Scandinavian peninsula,the top legislator of Vietnam proposed that in the coming time, MayorErlandsson will encourage local firms to strengthen partnerships withVietnamese localities in economy, trade, investment, culture and tourism.

She heldthat the economic, trade and investment cooperation between the two countriesshould be further promoted to match the potential and aspiration of both sides.

She statedthat her visit aims to foster the Vietnam-Sweden relations as well as thepartnership between the two parliaments in particular.

Vietnam isinterested in learning Sweden’s development experience, includingsocio-economic matters and issues related to environmental protection andsustainable growth, she said.

She alsoexpressed hope that Mayor Erlandsson and other leaders of Stockholm continuesupporting the Vietnamese community in the city to promote their role as a bridgefor the friendship between Stockholm and Vietnamese localities as well asbetween the two countries.

ChairwomanNgan suggested that Stockholm build twin relations with Vietnam’s economic andtourism hubs such as Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City.

For herpart, Mayor Erlandsson said that along with achievements, Stockholm, a small citywith a population of about 1 million people, is facing challenges relating to immigrantworkers and housing.

From one ofthe dirtiest cities in Europe 40 years ago, the city was recognised as thefirst green city of Europe in 2010 with clean water and fresh air, she said,attributing the success to the effective operation and management of watertreatment companies.

On theoccasion, the Stockholm leaders also shared their experience in restoration andmaintenance of architectural works as well as the e-government application.

MayorErlandsson said that thanks to awareness raising campaigns, Swedish people arenow highly responsible for protecting the environment.-VNA
