Hanoi (VNA) – The Government has quickly responded to pressing issues in society since it took office earlier this year, several National Assembly (NA) deputies told the media on the si💫delines of the November 2 plenary discussion.

Deputy Luu Binh Nhuong of Ben Tre province highly valued the Government’s report on the implementation of this year’s socio-economic development plan, saying that the Government has made a comprehensive review of socio-economic problems in recent months. According to him, the report, delivered by Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc, pointed out weaknesses and shortcomings in an objective, honest and straightforward manner.
The deputy also appreciated the Government leader’s strong leadership in the promotion of start-up, the settlement of drought impacts in the central region and saltwater intrusion in the Mekong Delta, poverty reduction, and new-style rural area building. “The Government’s macro-economic policies have met people’s expectations and demonstrated its resolve to become a growth-building and service-oriented government of integrity,” he added. Do Duc Hong Ha, a deputy of Hanoi, said the Government’s report presented a comprehensive and serious assessment of both attainments and failures. The work of the Government and the PM has received strong support from the public.
Their attentiveness to people’s interests can be seen in a number of activities, which shows they are keeping their promise to create an upright Government that works for the sake of the people, he noted. The Government should pay heed to removing hindrances to socio-economic development, Ha said, considering crime, especially corruption, the biggest obstacle. Echoing other legislators’ view, deputy Truong Minh Hoang of Ca Mau province said the Government has taken timely actions in response to the marine pollution in the central region and complex security cases.-VNA
