Seoul (VNA) – National Assembly Chairman Vuong Dinh Hue hosted a reception in Seoul on December 13 for Choi Jae-sung, who is a lawmaker from the Democratic Party of Korea and former political advisor to President Moon Jae-in, as part of his official visit to the Republic of Korea (RoK).
The top Vietnamese legislator noted that Vietnam and the RoK will celebrate the 30th founding anniversary of their diplomatic relations in 2022. Vietnam welcomes the RoK government’s implementation of the New Southern Policy, with special attention paid to cooperation with Vietnam.
Vietnam highly values its cooperative ties with the RoK and hopes to deepen the relationship in a more practical and effective manner, he said, adding that Vietnam is willing to support the RoK to penetrate more deeply into the Southeast Asian market.
Hailing contributions that Choi has made to the development of relations between the two countries, Hue expressed his hope that in the time to come, the Korean lawmaker will continue promoting the bilateral partnership in all fields, including defence, security, trade, investment, and people-to-people exchange.
The Vietnamese leader said that he hopes the Democratic Party of Korea will continue to support the enhancement of the Vietnam-RoK partnership.
For his part, Choi highlighted the outstanding development of the bilateral ties between the RoK and Vietnam in the recent ten years.
The RoK Government attaches great importance to its relationship with Vietnam and has sent Park Noh-wan who has extensive understanding of Vietnam, as its ambassador to the country, he said.
Underlining the RoK’s special attention to the global supplies, he said that the RoK hopes to cooperate with Vietnam in new industrial sectors to help stabilise the global supply chains.
The RoK also wants to participate in implementing a personnel training programme of Vietnam and hopes to receive support from the NA Chairman, he said./.
