NA Chairman: ensuring equal education access for all

Nghe An (VNA) – The Party and the Statealways pay special attention to education and training, ensuring the equalaccess to education for all, National Assembly Chairman Vuong Dinh Hue affirmedwhile attending the inaugural ceremony of a high school in a mountainous districtof Nghe An province on September 3.

This is the only high school in Ky Son – one of the most74 disadvantaged districts nationwide, about 250km from Nghe An province’s Vinhcity. More than 95% of its students belong to ethnic minority groups in thedistrict.  

The 2.6ha school was rebuilt with the funding of 210billion VND (8.95 million USD) from Trung Nam Construction Investment JointStock Company (Trungnam Group). It has a total of 245 rooms, including 171boarding rooms for students and teachers.

From the 2023-2024, Nghe An will grant scholarships to120 Lao students at the high school and the provincial ethnic minority boardingschool.

NA Chairman Hue said the scholarship programme willhelp neighbouring Laos in high-quality personnel training, while contributingto promoting the great friendship, special solidarity and comprehensivecooperation between the two countries.

He asked the provincial Party Committee and People’sCommittee to instruct the implementation of the legislature’s Resolution No. 88and other projects launched by the NA and the Government regarding socio-economicdevelopment in ethnic minority-inhabited and mountainous areas for 2021-2023,with priorities given to education infrastructure.

On this occasion, the Committee for Ethnic Affairspresented the Ky Son High School with 100 million VND.

Trungnam Group committed scholarships to the school’s studentsfor 10 years, starting 2022, with a toral value of 10 billion VND. The groupalso handed over 500 bikes to Ky Son and 1,500 school bags to the students./.

Running from August 4 to September 2, under the hashtag #TuHaoVietNam, the campaign invites participants in two categories: “I Love My Country” video clips and “I Love My Country” check-in photos.
