Hanoi (VNA) - 🍃National Assembly (NA) Chairman Tran Thanh Man attended a special art programme themed "Nang Ba Dinh” (Ba Dinh sunshine) at the Hanoi Opera House on August 27, which was hosted by the Dai Bieu Nhan Dan (The People's Representative) newspaper to mark the 79th anniversary of the National Day of Vietnam (September 2, 1945 - 2024).
Editor in Chief Pham Thi Thanh Huyen highlighted the significance of President Ho Chi Minh's reading of the Declaration of Independence proclaiming the birth of the Democratic Republic of Vietnam (now the Socialist Republic of Vietnam) on September 2, 1945, at Hanoi’s Ba Dinh Square.
It was a sacred moment in history, a turning point for the nation that marked the beginning of a lasting era of independent and free Vietnam, she said, adding that the Declaration was not only a pledge of freedom and independence but also a profound aspiration for the happiness of the people, with an unwavering belief in the bright and glorious future of the country, a legacy that began 79 autumns ago.
The art programme contributes to recreating that historical moment, thus expressing boundless gratitude of future generations to their ancestors, generations of heroic martyrs, and the countless compatriots who fearlessly sacrificed themselves for an independent Vietnam,
The event is expected to inspire national pride, love for the homeland, and a belief in the strong and prosperous future of Vietnam./.
