NA Chairman asks Hung Yen to invest more in infrastructure
National Assembly Chairman Vuong Dinh Hue has suggested the northern province of Hung Yen invest more in infrastructure to draw investors as room for industrial development remains ample in the region.

During a working session with the provincial authorities onMarch 14, Chairman Hue asked Hung Yen to focus on provincial planning thatlinks with regional and land planning to ensure stability and long-termsustainability. The province should leverage its advantage inclose proximity to the capital city of Hanoi – part of the dynamic northern development triangle, to seek new growth driving forces, thereby generating morejobs, increasing budget revenue and income for the people, he said. He noted that Hung Yen must closely combineurbanisation with urban economy and pay attention to social welfare so that all residentscould enjoy the fruits of development.
As 2023 marks the fourth year of theimplementation of the 19th provincial Party Congress’s Resolution, aswell as personnel work planning for the next tenure, the leader hoped that HungYen will nominate personnel who meet all the necessary qualifications to thelegislature and its organs.
🐠 Speaking at the event, Secretary of the provincial Party Congress Nguyen Huu Nghiainformed that the local economy expanded by 13.4% last year, a record in thepast 12 years. Its contribution to the State budget reached an all-time high of 51.4trillion VND (2.23 billion USD), which was 2.63 times higher than the estimateand a 2.69-fold increase compared to 2021.
In the first two months of this year, its industrial productiongrew by 10.48% while the total retail of goods and consumption services soaredby 225.34%. The province is now home to 2,145 valid investment projects, including 1,631 domestic and 514 foreign-invested ones, worth over310.8 trillion VND and more than 6.2 billion USD, respectively. Local industrialinfrastructure is developing rapidly with 8 out of 17 planned industrial parks(IPs) already in operation and ready to welcome projects. Nine other industrial parks arecurrently under construction./.
Industrial parks in the northern province of Hung Yen have attracted 555 million USD in foreign direct investment (FDI) so far this year, surpassing the yearly plan assigned by the provincial authority by 23.3% and up 11% year on year.
In the recent past, the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of the northern province of Hung Yen has worked to promote traditional culture preservation in connection with tourism development.
