Hanoi (VNA) - National Lea🅠gue for Democracy (NLD) party leader Aung San Suu Kyi will meet President Thein Sein and milita𒀰ry chief Min Aung Hlaing on December 2 in Naypyidaw, announced the Myanmar President’s Office.

Suu Kyi recommended the meetings after her party won a resounding victory in the November 8 election. Earlier, she held talks with Parliament Speaker U Shwe Mann.
The national conciliation meetings aim to seek a gentle political transition. Myanmar’s opposition party secured 886 seats or 77.04 percent at three levels of the parliament.
According to Myanmar’s Constitution, the NLD is eligible to set up an independent government and hold the chairmanship of both the lower and upper houses. It is also able to nominate two vice presidential candidates. However, the Constitution stipulates that 25 percent of all parliamentary seats are reserved for military appointees. The Ministry also controls some ministries in the government. The current government’s term will finish in March, 2016. The presidential election is slated for February, 2016.-VNA
