Mozambican PM pledges to promote comprehensive cooperation with Vietnam
Mozambican Prime Minister Maria Benvinda Delfina Levi has emphasised the special ties between Mozambique and Vietnam, noting their shared views and complementary socio-economic similarities.

Hanoi (VNA) – Prime Minister of Mozambique Maria Benvinda Delfina Levi has emphasised the special relationship between Mozambique and Vietnam, saying the two countries not only share views and visions on many issues but also have geographical, socio-economic similarities that enable them to complement ea🧸ch other, during her reception for Vietnamese Ambassador Tran Thi Thu Thin.
PM Levi, the second female head of government in Mozambique’s history, praised the positive outcomes of the bilateral solidarity, friendship, and cooperation between the two nations. She stressed that Mozambique attaches great importance to its ties with Vietnam and hopes to expand collaboration into new areas such as mining, energy, telecommunications, digital transformation, and aquaculture, alongside traditional sectors like healthcare, education, and agriculture.
Ambassador Thin conveyed Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh’s congratulations to PM Levi on her recent inauguration and extended his best wishes to Mozambique on the 50th anniversary of its independence. Thin also expressed her appreciation for the achievements of the Mozambican government in its first six months under Levi’s leadership, particularly in administrative reform and economic recovery.

The two sides agreed to boost cooperation across various sectors on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the diplomatic ties (June 25, 1975 – 2025). PM Levi directed relevant ministries and agencies to work closely with the Vietnamese Embassy to effectively implement future cooperative activities.
The same day, during a meeting with Mozambican Minister of National Defence Cristóvão Artur Chume, the two sides concurred to strengthen defence cooperation, particularly in areas such as mine clearance, post-war recovery, disaster response, and the defence industry./.
The exhibition serves as a profound tribute to previous generations who steadfastly nurtured Vietnam-Mozambique friendship and solidarity, and as an inspiring message to today's youth to continue developing the precious legacy, strengthening mutual understanding, respect, and cooperative spirit for the common benefit of both peoples.
For 2025 and beyond, Vietnam and Mozambique have identified key cooperation priorities, including the continued implementation of existing frameworks and the expansion of ties into new areas such as renewable energy, construction, IT and digital transformation.
The Ho Chi Minh National Academy of Politics has worked closely with the Central Party School of the Mozambique Liberation Front (FRELIMO) Party through regular mutual visits, short-term training programmes, and the implementation of a bilateral memorandum of understanding.
