- In the 21st century, leaders of the Communist Party of Vietnam (CPV) not only state that they are guided by Marxist-Leninist ideology but also consistently realise tasks, whether large or small, to build a civilised and prosperous Vietnamese society based on the approaches and principles established by President Ho Chi Minh, said Pyotr Tsvetov, Russian researcher on Vietnamese studies, who has spent many years working in Vietnam.

In a recent interview granted to the Vietnam News Agency on the occasion of the 79th National Day of Vietnam (September 2, 1945 - 2024), the former reporter for the newspaper “Pravda” (Truth) of the Russian Federation Communist Party from 1991-1993 gave his evaluation on contributions by leaders of the Communist Party of Vietnam (CPV), highlighting achievements of the Doi Moi (renewal) process initiated by the CPV in 1986. - The newspaper “Pravda” (Truth) of the Russian Federation Communist Party has asserted the value of “bamboo diplomacy” policy in helping Vietnam build extensive and reputable international relations, as well as gaining prestige and trust in the international arena.

In an article published on August 30, the newspaper said since President Ho Chi Minh read the Declaration of Independence, proclaiming the birth of the Democratic Republic of Vietnam (now the Socialist Republic of Vietnam) in 1945 in Hanoi, Vietnam has established diplomatic relations with 193 countries worldwide, including seven at the level of comprehensive strategic partnership. - Chinese carrier Colorful Guizhou Airlines has chosen Hanoi as its first international destination by launching a direct air route between Guiyang city (China) and Hanoi.

The Guiyang-Hanoi route will be operated with a frequency of three round-trip flights per week, on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays, using Airbus A320 aircraft. Previously, the journey from Hanoi to Guiyang took about 12 hours by road, but with the new direct flight, it now takes only about two hours. Read full story

- The promotion of green and sustainable financial development has created both new opportunities and challenges for the financial system in Vietnam, according to experts.

Nguyen Xuan Thanh, a lecturer of public policy and management at Fulbright University, said that Vietnam is lagging behind other countries in the region and the world in green and digital finance, with a lack of capital sources. Read full story

- Typhoon Yagi entered the East Sea on September 3, becoming the third storm in the sea so far this year, according to the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting (NCHF).

As of 7am, the eye of the storm was at about 18.4 degrees North latitude, 119.8 degrees East longitude, in the northeastern area of the north East Sea. The velocity near its centre was 62-74 km per hour, heading west-northwest at a speed of about 20-25 km per hour./. Read full story
