More than 290 Vietnamese citizens were flown home from Malaysia on November 15 on a Vietnam Airline flight.

Hanoi (VNA) – More than 290 Vietnamese citizens were flown homefrom Malaysia on November 15 on a Vietnam Airline flight.

The flight was arranged by the Vietnamese authorities, the Vietnamese Embassyin Malaysia and the national flag carrier.

Passengers on board include pregnant women, the elderly, children under 18years old, labourers with expired contracts and people in extremely difficultcircumstances.

To prevent the spread of COVID-19, disease preventionmeasures were strictly carried out during the flight. Upon landing at Tan SonNhat International Airport in Ho Chi Minh City, the flight crew and allpassengers were given health check-ups and quarantined.

More repatriation flights are set to be conducted to bring Vietnamese citizenshome, depending on their needs, and quarantine capacity in Vietnam.

Earlier this month, competent authorities joined hands tobring home nearly 290 citizens from Malaysia./.

“I Love My Country” media campaign launched

Running from August 4 to September 2, under the hashtag #TuHaoVietNam, the campaign invites participants in two categories: “I Love My Country” video clips and “I Love My Country” check-in photos.

With a tight 13-month deadline, the move is under a strategic and urgent policy to bridge educational gaps, train the local workforce, and shore up territorial sovereignty in some of the country’s most remote areas.
