More trains to be added on Hanoi – Lao Cai rail route

The Hanoi Railway Transport JSC (Haraco) on October 26 said that it will run extra passenger trains on the Hanoi – Lao Cai route in the last two months of this year to meet the rising travel demand to the resort town of Sa Pa.

Hanoi(VNA) - The Hanoi RailwayTransport JSC (Haraco) on October 26 said that it will run extra passengertrains on the Hanoi – Lao Cai route in the last two months of this year to meetthe rising travel demand to the resort town of Sa Pa.

The company will launch train SP1 on November 3, 4,9, 10, 17 and 24, and December 1, 8, 9, 15, 22 and 29. It will depart from thecapital city at 9:35pm and arrive in the northern mountainous province of LaoCai at 5:15am.

There are currently passenger trains SP3/SP4 runningdaily. SP3 leaves Hanoi at 10:00pm and arrives in Lao Cai at 5:55am, while SP4 departs from Lao Cai at 9:50pm and arrivesin Hanoi at 5:25am.

Fares range from 346,000 to 401,000 VND (14.06 – 16.3USD) per person per trip.

Notably, the company also offers bus tickets forroutes between Lao Cai and Sapa.

In the first nine months of this year, Haraco recorded1.89 trillion VND in revenue and nearly 98 billion VND in profit. Currently, itholds the lion’s share (more than 90%) in the Vietnam Railway Corporation(VNR)./.
