More than 6 million foreign tourists visit Hanoi in 11 months

The capital city of Hanoi welcomed more than 6 million foreign visitors in the period from January to November this year, a 12 percent increase from the same period last year.

Hanoi (VNA) – The capitalcity of Hanoi welcomed more than 6 million foreign visitors in the period fromJanuary to November this year, a 12 percent increase from the same period lastyear.

Domestic travellers included, atotal 26.34 million tourists chose the city to visit in the period, up 9.9percent on a yearly basis, generating over 92.4 trillion VND (3.99 billionUSD), up 31.6 percent.  

In November alone, the number ofvisitors was estimated at 2.51 million, including 699,000 foreign arrivals, showingyearly increases of 12.2 percent and 19 percent respectively. The majority ofinternational tourists came from the Republic of Korea, China and Japan.

Local hotels reported an average occupancyrate of 67.7 percent, while the rate was higher at five-star facilities at 82percent./.

Under a draft to amend and supplement the Government's Decree 125/2020/ND-CP on administrative sanctions for violations of tax and invoice regulations, the Ministry of Finance has proposed classifying the failure to issue invoices into five different levels.
