More support for flood victims in central region

Hanoi (VNA)💞 - President of the Vietnam Fatherland Front (VFF) Central Committee Nguyen Thien Nhan on October 31 received 800 million VND (36,000 USD) donated by the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development (MARD) to support flood victims in the central region.

This is the second donation from the MARD to the flood victims. Previously, it donated 200 million VND (9,000 USD). Nhan said the recent flood and maritime environmental incident in the central provinces have made life in the central provinces difficult.
The assistance of agencies, businesses and individuals helps the victims surmount difficulties, he added. He pledged the money will be delivered to localities on schedule. As of October 31, the VFF Central Committee has received over 17 billion VND (765,000 USD) donated to support flood victims in the central region.
The same day, Luong Mong Sanh, head of the VFF chapter of the southern central province of Phu Yen launched a campaign to raise fund for flood victims in central provinces. On the first day, more than 650 million VND (29,250 USD) was raised from organisations, localities, enterprises and individuals. Previously, the province delivered aid of 200 million VND (9,000 USD) to victims in Ha Tinh and Quang Binh.-VNA
