More construction price norms for public transport projects to be issued
The Ministry of Construction will issue more construction price norms for public transport projects under its authority in the first quarter of 2024 to boost the construction of the country’s key transport projects.

Hanoi (VNS/VNA) - The Ministry of Construction willissue more construction price norms for public transport projects under itsauthority in the first quarter of 2024 to boost the construction of thecountry’s key transport projects.
Deputy Minister of Construction Bui Hong Minh spoke at an onlineconference to deploy the Prime Minister's Official Dispatch 02/CD-TTg datedJanuary 9, 2024, co-organised by the Ministry of Construction and the Ministryof Transport early this week. The event aimed to remove difficulties andobstacles related to construction investment costs, construction price andconstruction material price regulations.
According to Minh, in recent years, the investment in theconstruction of key projects, such as North-South Expressway, Ring Road 4 inHanoi, Belt Road 3 in Ho Chi Minh City, National Railway, urban railways,seaports and airports have been implemented synchronously, helping to connecteconomic development of regions, inter-regions and national key economicregions.
However, Minh said, the management of the projects has still facedmany difficulties and obstacles related to construction investment costs,construction price and construction material price norms, especially the priceof construction materials at mines assigned to contractors according to thespecific mechanism of the National Assembly and the Government.
At the meeting, Deputy Minister of Transport Le Anh Tuan said thatthe current regulations on managing construction investment costs are basicallycomplete and meet practical management requirements. However, in the actualimplementation process, some projects still face difficulties and obstacles indeveloping, appraising and approving total investment estimates andconstruction costs.
To solve the problems, Deputy Minister of Construction Bui HongMinh said his ministry will issue 318 additional construction price normsfor public transportation construction projects according to its authority inthe first quarter of 2024.
Besides, the ministry will also issue 547 price estimation normsfor public transport construction projects.
"We will continue to review to issue new norms for thosestill lacking or inappropriate due to changes in technology, constructionconditions or new construction materials," Minh affirmed./.
Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh asked ministries, agencies and localities to make greater efforts to remove roadblocks to national and key transport projects while chairing a meeting on November 25.
A series of large inter-regional transport projects have been launched in the southeast region in 2023 to form a completed and uniform transport network meeting the region's development needs, creating new driving forces for the region’s economic growth.
The Ministry of Transport said it will strive to complete procedures for 19 transport projects to start construction in 2024. Among the projects, three are directly under the authority of the ministry, namely the Dau Giay-Tan Phu Expressway, Cho Moi-Bac Kan Expressway and Lo T-Rach Soi Expressway.
